Durability

  • To prolong the life of leather goods we recommend regularly cleaning and waterproofing your bags. To do this we suggest using a clean damp cloth to wipe your bag, applying a natural wax-based care product, and finishing with a waterproofing spray.

  • We recommend cleaning your bag at least once a year, or whenever the leather starts to feel dry or rough.

  • Choose colorless products to protect against water and oil. We recommend natural wax-based products to clean, soften, and protect your leather. All Berliner Bags products are made from smooth leather, so choose care products accordingly.

  • Slight color and texture irregularities are natural in vegetable-tanned leather. Each vintage bag has a unique color, is hypoallergenic, and chemical-free. Over time, the leather will naturally darken with regular use.

  • Leather, as a natural material, may have a strong smell initially. Natural vegetable tanning process doesn't fully neutralize it, but the scent fades in 2-4 weeks of use. To speed it up, place a scented sachet or dryer sheet inside the bag.
